Poem in Your Pocket Day

Today is one of my favorite days. It's Poem in Your Pocket Day. For those of you who don't know, on Poem in Your Pocket Day, you choose a special poem to carry around and possibly share with others. Today I will be carrying the poem Blind Boone's Apparitions by Tyehimba Jess. It's a nicely done poem where the stanzas are haiku. Here are a few lines.

my motto for life

- merit, not sympathy, wins-

my song against death.

Pretty good, right?!

Today I will also be handing out pocket sized excerpts of poems from my book Changing the Lines. If you would like to download the document and share, click here. Cut between the spaces and you'll have one poem for yourself and two to share! It's also below. No matter what poem you choose, make it personal.

Enjoy the day!

Kat
