Join the Canyon Poets Thursday when we feature Vickie E. Williams. Vickie Williams was born in Monroe, Louisiana in the segregated South and

lived there until the age of fifteen. She migrated to Los Angeles in 1968 and

currently resides in La Palma, California. Her journaling and letter writing as a

youth created a hunger and passion which has expanded her desire to write

poetry and poetic prose. She is a retired pharmacist and a former member of the

Still Waters Writers’ Workshop. She has presented the Still Waters Workshop

Poets at the Cerritos Library and hosted poetry readings in her home. She has

been published in two anthologies of poetry, “Sounds from the Waters” and “L.A.

Poets.” Her short stories have been published in The Downey and The Norwalk

Patriot Newspapers and in “Sharing Stories-Global Voices Coming Together,” an

anthology of memoir stories.
