About the Event
Join The Canyon Poets on Monday, June 16th at 5 PM PT for an inspiring evening featuring poet and educator Ronna Magy. Born and raised in Detroit and now rooted in Los Angeles, Ronna brings decades of advocacy, artistry, and community-building to her work. Honored by West Hollywood as a civil rights hero, she has curated readings for senior queer women writers at the LALGBT Center and the Circa: Queer Histories Festival. Her poetry has appeared in Sinister Wisdom, Writers Resist, Cholla Needles, and the Los Angeles Press, among others. A retired ESL instructor and textbook author, Ronna continues to elevate marginalized voices while working on her debut poetry manuscript. Don’t miss this special evening of poetry, memory, and the power of resistance through language.
