About the Event
Join us on May 19th, 2025, for a special Canyon Poets gathering featuring C.I. Aki—poet, essayist, editor, filmmaker, and educator—whose work bridges art, theology, and social critique. Aki’s debut poetry collection, The World Black, Beautiful, and Beast, offers an unflinching and lyrical examination of Black identity, spirituality, and resistance. Hailing from Nashville by way of Nigerian and Jamaican roots, Aki brings a deeply philosophical and emotionally resonant voice to the page and the stage. This virtual reading on Zoom promises an evening of insight, connection, and poetic power. All are welcome.
Katerina Canyon is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.
