About the Event

Join us on August 18, 2026 at 8 PM ET for The Canyon Poets Featuring Kendall Dunkelberg, a captivating evening of poetry and storytelling set in the stunning Canyon ambiance.

Led by Kendall Dunkelberg—Director of the low‑residency MFA in Creative Writing and the Eudora Welty Writers’ Symposium at Mississippi University for Women, editor of Poetry South, and author of four poetry collections (Tree Fall with Birdsong, Barrier Island Suite, Time Capsules, Landscapes and Architectures)—this event promises a rich blend of voice and vision.

Expect powerful readings, behind‑the‑scenes insight into the craft of poetry, and engaging multi‑genre conversation. Kendall’s poems have recently appeared in outlets such as Delta Poetry Review, Tar River Poetry, Birmingham Poetry Review, Juke Joint, River Mouth Review, Peauxdunque Review, and Salvation South, and are featured in anthologies like Attached to the Living World: A New Ecopoetry Anthology and Southern Voices: Fifty Contemporary Poets.
