Join us for an evening of haiku, senryu, and poetic conversation with Ben Gaa, your friendly neighborhood haiku poet and host of Haiku Talk on YouTube. Ben is the author of three acclaimed full-length collections—A Wild Blue Sky (Octopus Hearts Press, 2025), One Breath (Spartan Press, 2020), and the Touchstone Award–winning Wishbones (Folded Word, 2018)—as well as four chapbooks, including One Note Moon (Brooks Books, 2023), winner of the HIGH/COO Award.


With over a thousand haiku and senryu published in journals and anthologies around the world, Ben’s work reflects the art of attention and the beauty of the ordinary. A graduate of the Knox College Creative Writing program, he has led workshops, readings, and conversations that make haiku accessible, joyful, and deeply human.
